Architectural Project Manager/ Senior Program Manager - Facilities Planning & Design

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent and timely communication with stakeholders and leadership to maintain alignment and transparency.
  • Keep all project contributors informed of current status, emerging challenges, and necessary next steps.
  • Deliver compelling presentations to stakeholders and partners using visually engaging decks and clearly defined goals.
  • Ensure full compliance with institutional policies, regulatory codes, and project requirements across all participants.
  • Define programmatic needs and develop preliminary space planning (test fits) for new initiatives.
  • Oversee and document project scope and objectives, incorporating user requirements, hospital standards, and external regulatory criteria.
  • Apply knowledge of building systems, operations, sustainability, and design standards to support project success.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and auditable project documentation and timelines in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Provide strategic leadership and coordination to Project Managers, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Manage design review and approval processes from concept through development, and advise on field modifications as needed.
  • Identify potential risks or issues early and escalate to management with recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with departments and physician groups to build strong relationships and understand operational workflows.

Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, blending strategic leadership with hands-on project execution. Operating in a hybrid setting with 23 days onsite, team members engage closely with multidisciplinary groups including physicians, engineers, contractors, and hospital staff. The role emphasizes autonomy, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement, supported by modern tools and a culture that values innovation, compliance, and operational excellence.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Stanford, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
