SUMMARY
The Warehouse Superintendent is a pivotal role responsible for the strategic management and optimization of all warehouse operations. This leader is tasked with ensuring a seamless flow of goods from storage to shipping, while prioritizing customer satisfaction through efficient, accurate, and cost-effective delivery services. The Superintendent will drive continuous improvement and uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance within the warehouse environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee all warehouse functions including, but not limited to, receiving, storage, order picking, shipping, and transportation. Ensure operational procedures are efficient and continually seek ways to improve processes.
  • Team Development: Recruit, develop, and train warehouse personnel on safety, compliance, product knowledge, company procedures, and best practices. Cultivate a culture of excellence and accountability within the team.
  • Inventory Management: Implement and maintain a robust cycle count program based on ABC principles to ensure inventory accuracy and optimize stock levels.
  • Strategic Planning: Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse operations. Monitor and analyze performance data to drive strategic decisions and achieve operational excellence.
  • Customer Focus: Work closely with customer service and other departments to ensure a customer-centric approach to operations, addressing any issues promptly and efficiently to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Resource Management: Evaluate and allocate warehouse resources effectively to meet company objectives and targets. Ensure all materials are managed efficiently from receipt to dispatch.
  • Safety and Compliance: Champion a safe working environment by facilitating training, conducting incident investigations, and ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with production, sales, quality control, and purchasing to align warehouse activities with broader company goals.
  • Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of warehouse operations and generate reports to provide insights into performance and areas for improvement.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in business, Material Management, or a related field.
  • 5 - 7 years of management experience in warehousing, inventory control, or materials management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to resolve problems effectively.
  • Proficient in JDE/SAP/AX and familiarity with MS Excel and the MS Office suite.
  • Experience in maintaining and working with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, push, bend, twist or crouch.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate as this position is based in the warehouse and outdoors. The work is required in the operation of forklifts and other machinery including but not limited to cut-off saws, shrink-wrappers and others which require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs.
