Heavy Equipment Operator

We have several immediate opportunities for Construction Heavy Equipment Operators in West Valley, Utah. The ideal candidates shall have experience operating heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, loaders, and dozers in a safe and efficient manger and in accordance with OSHA safety practices. He/she will be working with a team of foreman and laborers each day and responsible for keeping the team safe and the project moving! Responsibilities Include

• Comply with operating safety rules and regulations per OSHA safe practices.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and maintain accurate records.
• Safely change buckets and attachments in a timely matter.
• Perform safe and clean trench excavation and backfill.
• Calculate and set proper grades and elevations.
• Follow the directions of the foreman with regards to daily production schedule and activities.
• Experienced heavy equipment operator willing to work for long periods of time with continuous attention to detail and safety.
• Know and respect the limitations of heavy equipment including load weights in order not to overload or offset equipment center of gravity.
• Read and understand cut and fill stakes to align and position equipment appropriately.
• Work closely with crew by use of hand signals or radio communications to align and position equipment appropriately.
• Move and position raw materials and finished components with use of material moving equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years experience working as an equipment operator for underground utilities.
• Trained and certified to operate the assigned equipment.
• A combination of formal education, training, and experience to gain knowledge, skills, and abilities generally equivalent to those possessed by a high school graduate.
• Company will provide First Aid Training
• Clean driving record
• Able to drive, traverse on uneven surfaces, frequently lift up to 40 lbs., sit/stand for extended periods of time, work in various weather conditions, and possibly be in remote regions (coast, desert, and mountain) for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work 25-30 hours of overtime.
