Job Summary:
The Train Electrician III is an entry-level position responsible for assisting skilled Electricians by supplying materials, equipment, and tools at the scene of jobs and learning the practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment of the electrician's trade.
The Details:Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Wage: $23.50 an hourSchedule:4 day 10 hour work week ( Monday - Thursday) ( Off Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Responsibilities
- Understands and supports Xanterra's Mission Statement, Core Values, and Cultural pillar.
- Reads and draws electrical schematics and understands electrical code specifications to determine wiring installations.
- Layout, design, and implement control equipment and wiring for locomotive and passenger car systems.
- Layout and design distribution and control equipment such as circuit breaker panel boards, fuse enclosures, switch boxes, pull boxes, and related devices.
- Understands and Identifies equipment needs, parts, and supplies; maintains adequate inventory.
- Provides clear communication to appropriate parties and prioritizes workload to meet deadlines.
- Completes precision work and adheres to industry standards for installation, repairs, and safety.
- Solves problems relating to installation techniques on job sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of electrical concepts normally acquired through 1 year of related experience.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Must possess a valid/clear Arizona Driver's License and comply with Xanterra/GCR Vehicle/Equipment Policy.
- Previous experience as an electrician in an industrial or railroad setting is a plus
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
- Frequently standing, walking, handling, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder, climbing, crawling, squatting/kneeling, bending/stooping lifting/carrying up to 50lbs, and pushing/pulling up to 25lbs. Twisting, using eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, using wrist motion, and ascending and descending ladder.
- Occasionally sitting, lifting/carrying up to 100lbs, and pushing/pulling up to 100lbs.
- Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, and speaking.
- Will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time on cement floors and to occasionally walk on uneven surfaces
