LOCATION: This is a nationwide traveling position requiring frequent travel to project sites across the United States. Per diem will be provided.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Coatings & Linings Foreman to lead industrial coatings crews to safe and on-time completion of various types of projects. The foreman will be required to operate and fix equipment as needed and is expected to work alongside the crew to complete all necessary tasks. The best candidate will be someone who leads by example and is extremely driven to succeed.
Job Functions:
- Supervise and assist workers in their performance of assigned duties
- Lead crews in daily tailgate safety meetings and communicate the day's work expectations to the crew
- Perform all job functions with a safety-first approach
- Meet production rate requirements to meet schedules and budgets
- Generate project schedules and plan several weeks at a time
- Perform and document quality control inspections per job specification and quality control plan requirements using various coatings testing equipment
- Train employees on all equipment and tools needed for each task
- Use concrete saws and tools to remove and install joint sealant
- Build scaffolding and designs/erects containments using tarps, cables, and rigid materials
- Inspect, operate, and maintain heavy industrial equipment including large compressors, generators, blast pots, air dryers, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts
- Operate various types of paint pumps and able to fix/maintain them in the field
- Support the Division Quality Program
- Operate under the authority of the SSPC Quality Control Supervisor to perform assigned responsibilities
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High School diploma or GED
- Must have at least 5 years work experience leading and supervising industrial coating activities
- Experience with containment design and erection
- Possess the ability to comprehend and execute verbal and written instructions and demonstrate characteristics of strong work ethic, competent and selfmotivated
- Must be able to understand, read and write in English
- Possess effective communication skills
- Possess work crew supervision skills
- Must be able to troubleshoot and have a strong attention to detail
- Must have physical dexterity
- Ability to organize, record and present information in a clear accurate and concise manner
- Understand job specifications and able to ensure specification requirements are met
- Must be able to adapt to changes in site conditions and solve problems quickly and effectively
- Must be able to continuously shift tasks as necessary to complete project goals
- Must be able to change from day shift to night shift as required by project conditions
- Must understand safe work practices
- Must be willing to travel
- Must be able to pass a background check required to access US military installations
- Must have a valid driver's license
- This position may require, now or in the future, a Commercial Driver's License
- OSHA 30-hour General or Construction Safety and Health training within the last 5 years
- AMPP Coatings Application Specialist Level 1 certification (preferred, not required)
- AMPP/NACE Coatings Inspector Program Level 1 certification (preferred, not required)
