Spherion is hiring for an experienced Welder to work a rotating shift in Donora. Starting pay for this position varies based on experience, but starts at no less than $20/hour. The Welder position is a Temp to Hire role. Welders ensure the weld, burn and fitting process is accurate

Job Description:

As a Welder, use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Welders understand the welding machines including design, uses, maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities:

• Plan fabrication jobs by interpreting work orders and collecting the required materials
• Perform welding, cutting, and burning to fabricate components to specification
• Operate material handling equipment, such as overhead cranes, safely and efficiently
• Conduct in-process quality checks to maintain high standards
• Communicate equipment malfunctions or material defects to supervision
• Contribute to general production tasks as needed

Education: High School

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: 6 months

Physical:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Skills:

• Welding
• Welders understanding of welding machines and tools including design, uses, maintenance and repair
• Understanding of metallurgy
• Ability to weld components that are vertical, flat or overhead
• Ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding
