What does this role look like?

Lockheed Martin is looking for a dynamic, hardworking technical lead to support the FBM Program. This position will report to the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Propulsion, Structures, Ordnance, and Controls (PSOC) Sustainment Contracts Program Manager and will directly support the D5 Life Extension (D5LE) program leadership team integrating within the larger Integrated Product Team (IPT).

As the FBM PSOC Sustainment Programs Hardware Aging & Integration Lead, you will:

Develop, coordinate, integrate and execute all PSOC D5LE hardware aging programs including business rhythms, cost account performance, program metric development and tracking, program technical ownership, and integration between all PSOC organizations and leadership. Ensure all customer contract and company requirements are met. Most importantly, you will be responsible for evolving our technical understanding of our hardware, processes and tools to effectively determine hardware risk and corrective actions in support of fleet requirements, assessments, constraints, and technical performance.

Work closely with a multifunctional team to drive exceptional performance across all our existing and future contracts. Partner and collaborate with other Program Leaders, CPEs, Suppliers and IPTs to ensure understanding of hardware aging concerns, integration with program efforts, and collaboration on strategic initiatives for risk mitigation across program, supplier and government partners.

Be our PSOC Hardware Aging Lead and Cost Account Manager integrating directly with FBM and PSOC technical teams, program leadership and with our Navy partners. Develop and refine our technical business processes, measurements, and communications to more effectively program manage our hardware aging contracts and strategic planning with ownership and accountability throughout the directorate.

Develop, communicate and establish our PSOC Sustainment long range planning for hardware aging and fleet support to ensure a credible and reliable deterrent for decades to come. Leverage new data to influence active research and development trade studies, testing campaigns and hardware designs changes.

Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate. To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

Demonstrated experience leading project teams,

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a STEM field, or equivalent experience/combined education,

Strong mechanical or chemical/energetic engineering domain knowledge (e.g. design, manufacture, test, and analysis) demonstrate critical thinking and solutioning on unique problems,

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong cross-organization relationships,

Knowledge of program management, finance, planning, contracts, Earned Value Management (EVM), risk/opportunity management and managing to performance metrics or Cost Account Management (CAM) experience,

You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance , to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering highly desired,

Demonstrated technical acumen in energetics, performance analysis, material science, mechanical or systems engineering, and hardware testing.

US Strategic Systems and/or Missile/Space Weapons Systems Experience

Proven self-starter with demonstrated capability to proactively work through difficult project and resource challenges to deliver results.

Ability to absorb extensive technical, financial and schedule data to support programmatic decisions, effectively lead a team or project, or develop and execute strategic initiatives.

Masters Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or relevant Graduate degree.

Experience with proposals: proposal preparation, cost estimation generation, development of cost justifications, Basis of Estimate (BOE) generation, fact-finding, negotiations.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences be a change agent!

Experience with Risk and Opportunity management.
