CommScope is hiring a Project Manager on-site (five days a week) in Shakopee, MN. Local candidates highly preferred.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World

You will lead development project teams, managing schedules and budgets with team input. Oversee key processes from project initiation through production release, working with internal partners to deliver products within time, requirements, profitability, and budget constraints. You are accountable to a functional manager or core team, and are expected to provide leadership, implement projects according to procedures, and align with core team and business unit strategy. Address issues impacting project execution across the organization. Primary responsibilities include:

Project Team Leadership:

  • Define and lead the project team in completing all project phases, deliverables, and activities. Develop project timelines and lead the team to implement the plan. Effectively apply PMO methodologies to keep projects on track and to implement project standards.
  • Management of all project activities and decision-making forum between project gate reviews.
  • Ensure a common understanding of goals and objectives in the team. Achievement of all design and project objectives.
  • Drive conflict resolution. Influence team members and functional resource managers to get results. Recognize team strengths and weaknesses by using team members to complement each other

Project Accountability:

  • Management of project budget and cost requirements. Monitoring of project forecasts and the corresponding impact on project justification.
  • Accountable for the detailed work plan of each project phase and ensuring completion of agreed-upon deliverables by the team.
  • Resolution of staffing/resource issues together with functional managers.
  • Project tracking relative to the project contract. Lead and coach project teams in the use of peer reviews, team meetings, requirements workshops, FMEA, DFX, and DFMEA tools to mitigate costs, risks and schedule.
  • Minimize exposure and risk on projects through contingency planning and risk mitigation.
  • Identify key issues and make the best choice of all alternatives with team input

Coordination with Project Team and Management:

  • Accountable to the Project Governance Team.
  • Presents development projects at gate reviews, requesting and taking responsibility for project budgets.
  • Resolves project and functional conflicts, managing expectations and raising issues/barriers to management that cannot be readily solved by the project team

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • One or more years of experience in leading physical product development projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Product Suite, including MS Project.
  • Live within commutable distance to our Shakopee facility and be able to be in the office Monday through Friday.

You Will Excite Us if you have

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Prior experience with Planview and SAP.
  • Completed or pursuing Project Management certification

Our salary ranges take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business requirements. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a proven track record of successful performance. The expected salary range for this position is $87,400 - $111,500 (USD).

The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company's Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
