Job Summary : Hughes General Contractors is looking for a qualified candidate to fulfill an Excavation Superintendent position. This role performs job site management and coordination of Heavy Civil construction projects and includes coordinating all efforts to ensure customer satisfaction and overall success of a project. Superintendents will supervise job assigned operators and laborers. Superintendents will interact closely with Building Superintendents, Field Foremen and Field Crews and Subcontractors.

Min Qualifications :

• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to read and understand plans, specs, and soil reports
• Ability to prepare job schedules
• 5 years of experience as an Excavation Superintendent or other construction related experience
• Proficient in operating various equipment; i.e. Back Hoe, Track Hoe, Grader, Dozer, Loader, etc.
• Proficient in setting, transferring and understanding grades
• 3 years of experience managing and directing field personnel
• Proficient in operating GPS controlled equipment
• Safety conscious with a proven track record
• Ability to read and write in the English language
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents, contracts, specifications and/or government regulations

Special Requirements: Must be able to pass controlled substance tests prior to and at all times during employment.
