The Pacific West Region is recruiting for TEMPORARY seasonal positions not to exceed 1039 hours work in a service year. Des of employment will vary depending on funding, weher conditions, and ion. Within regulory limitions, the length of initial appointment may be shortened or extended depending on work availability and funding.
The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is Nov-Dec, but can be variable during these months due to weher conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticiped Entry on Duty: November 2025.
Major Duties (WG 04-05):
Operes and performs operor maintenance on various types of motor vehicles up to 10,000 pounds. Loads and unloads cargo, using approprie tie-downs.
Perform preventive maintenance such as checking and adding fluids to bring to proper levels, checking air pressure and adding when required. Safely use and maintain hand and power tools.
Performs routine maintenance and custodial duties on buildings and grounds, and trails.
Assist journeyman performing variety duties such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical, asphalt work and road maintenance by repairing pavement surfaces. (applies to WG-05 only)
Transports passengers or cargo to their destinions throughout rural or urban area on park and/or public roads in full range of traffic conditions (or the equivalent). (applies to WG-05 only)
WG-04 Physical Effort: Light physical effort is required to opere the vehicles controls. Modere effort is exerted in the frequent handling of objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and the occasional handling of heavier objects while loading cargo, with the assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment. Other colleral duties may include more strenuous activities.
WG-04 Working Conditions: Incumbent is required to work outside and is exposed to extreme hot and cold temperures. Operes vehicles in all types of weher in a controlled traffic environment. Drivers are exposed to dirt and fumes, and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle.
WG-05 Physical Effort: Modere physical effort may be required in making couplings between the vehicle and towed equipment. Considerable physical effort may be required to change tires and make limited emergency repairs. Required to frequently lift items weighing over 50 pounds. Work may involve climbing of ladders, scaffolding, and working in and around power tools and equipment.

You required to opere a government (or prive) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operor's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a Ste sealed envelope or submitted directly by the Ste authorities), and your own expense, all certified driving records from all Stes th disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
You required to wear a uniform and comply with the Nional Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance provided.
Travel, transportion & relocion expenses will not be paid. Relocion expenses the employee's responsibility.
Applicants must be least (1)18 years old or (2) least 16 years old and: (a) Have gradued from high school or been awarded a certifice equivalent to graduing from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocional training program; or (c) Have received a stement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rher than continuing their educion; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacion periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.

To qualify for this position, you must:
Have the ability to do the work of a Motor Vehicle Operor WG-5703-04 without more than normal supervision. (Screen out). This includes work such as: opering a variety of motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds to transport personnel, merial or equipment on prive or government land; perform preventive maintenance on vehicles; load and unload cargo safely, using tie downs, straps, chains, etc.
Have the ability to do the work of a Motor Vehicle Operor WG-5703-05 without more than normal supervision. (Screen out). This includes work such as: opering a variety of motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds to transport personnel, merial or equipment on public roads; perform preventive maintenance and repairs on vehicles; load and unload cargo safely, using tie downs, straps, chains, etc. Has occasionally led a crew in the performance of these types of tasks.

The Pacific West Region is recruiting for TEMPORARY seasonal positions not to exceed 1039 hours work in a service year. Des of employment will vary depending on funding, weher conditions, and ion. Within regulory limitions, the length of initial appointment may be shortened or extended depending on work availability and funding.
The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is Nov-Dec, but can be variable during these months due to weher conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticiped Entry on Duty: November 2025.
Major Duties (WG 04-05):
Operes and performs operor maintenance on various types of motor vehicles up to 10,000 pounds. Loads and unloads cargo, using approprie tie-downs.
Perform preventive maintenance such as checking and adding fluids to bring to proper levels, checking air pressure and adding when required. Safely use and maintain hand and power tools.
Performs routine maintenance and custodial duties on buildings and grounds, and trails.
Assist journeyman performing variety duties such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical, asphalt work and road maintenance by repairing pavement surfaces. (applies to WG-05 only)
Transports passengers or cargo to their destinions throughout rural or urban area on park and/or public roads in full range of traffic conditions (or the equivalent). (applies to WG-05 only)
WG-04 Physical Effort: Light physical effort is required to opere the vehicles controls. Modere effort is exerted in the frequent handling of objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and the occasional handling of heavier objects while loading cargo, with the assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment. Other colleral duties may include more strenuous activities.
WG-04 Working Conditions: Incumbent is required to work outside and is exposed to extreme hot and cold temperures. Operes vehicles in all types of weher in a controlled traffic environment. Drivers are exposed to dirt and fumes, and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle.
WG-05 Physical Effort: Modere physical effort may be required in making couplings between the vehicle and towed equipment. Considerable physical effort may be required to change tires and make limited emergency repairs. Required to frequently lift items weighing over 50 pounds. Work may involve climbing of ladders, scaffolding, and working in and around power tools and equipment.
WG-05 Working Conditions: Incumbent is required to work outside and is exposed to extreme hot and cold temperures. You required to opere a government (or prive) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operor's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a Ste sealed envelope or submitted directly by the Ste authorities), and your own expense, all certified driving records from all Stes th disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
You required to wear a uniform and comply with the Nional Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance provided.
Travel, transportion & relocion expenses will not be paid. Relocion expenses the employee's responsibility.
Applicants must be least (1)18 years old or (2) least 16 years old and: (a) Have gradued from high school or been awarded a certifice equivalent to graduing from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocional training program; or (c) Have received a stement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rher than continuing their educion; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacion periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.

To qualify for this position, you must:

This includes work such as: opering a variety of motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds to transport personnel, merial or equipment on prive or government land; perform preventive maintenance on vehicles; load and unload cargo safely, using tie downs, straps, chains, etc.
Have the ability to do the work of a Motor Vehicle Operor WG-5703-05 without more than normal supervision. (Screen out). This includes work such as: opering a variety of motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds to transport personnel, merial or equipment on public roads; perform preventive maintenance and repairs on vehicles; load and unload cargo safely, using tie downs, straps, chains, etc. Has occasionally led a crew in the performance of these types of tasks.
