Summary:
We are hiring an AutoCAD Design Technician to join our Water/Wastewater team in Houston, Texas! This person will support engineers and designers on projects of increasing complexity while completing detailed drawings in a collaborative environment using computer-aided design programs with a focus on Wastewater Treatment Plants/Facilities.

Essential Duties:
Understanding of Wastewater Treatment Plant/Facility design.
Uses advanced knowledge of computer design software to produce detailed drawings on a number of concurrent projects.
Revises or changes drawings and completes standard calculations with specific instructions.
Plots maps and charts showing profiles and cross-sections, indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations to buildings, retaining walls, tunnels, overhead power lines, and other structures.
Completes site layout, dimension control plans, redline cleanup, detail sheet setup, plotting, and exhibits.
Develops detailed drawings of structures and installations such as buildings, roads, culverts, fresh water supply, sewage disposal systems, and dikes.
Lays out and scales the components of each drawing, prepares the appropriate plot plans, section s, elevations, and details required.
Completes assigned basic drafting work and print production of plan set.
Provides time estimates required to complete tasks.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of CAD software tools and how they are used including creating, editing, or modifying surfaces and pipe networks.
Provides preliminary drawings, sketches, and notes to other CAD Operators.
Recognizes the sheet set up preferences and requirements of internal and external clients.
Maintains file management of CAD files and other documents.
Recommends best practices and process improvements.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus more than 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrates advanced proficiency in design software such as MicroStation/Geopak, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or ArcGIS. Possesses basic knowledge of drawing elements that include, but are not limited to, surfaces, corridors, and utility alignments.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
