Water Operator I-III

WaterPro/Draper Irrigation is looking for hard working, dedicated candidates who want a steady job with the ability to improve their skills and pay. Our Water Distribution Operator position is an active outdoor job (repair and maintenance of water systems) that provides opportunities to work with a great crew and make a difference in the community. You will be part of a team and will interact with customers and contractors occasionally. Your day-to-day duties will vary depending on what needs to be done, but you will work with experienced team members who can support you.

At a minimum, we are looking for a candidate 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid class B CDL with a clean driving record. The job will require you to be able to obtain a tanker endorsement as well.

If you have additional experience (general excavating, water industry, equipment operation, or Grade IV Water Operator certification) we will offer a higher hourly rate.

This job offers very generous benefits equivalent to about $10 additional per hour after an initial trial period of 90 days, including fully-paid health insurance for you and your dependents, paid vacation, and tuition reimbursement for courses related to your job. In addition, you can participate in a comprehensive apprenticeship program that will prepare you to pass the Grade IV Operators exam within two years of your hire date.

Service connection repair/replacement

Service connection installation

Fire hydrant repair/replacement

Water valve repair/replacement

Pressure reducing valve maintenance

Air vac maintenance

Pump and filter maintenance

Heavy equipment operation

Hydro excavation operation

10 Wheel Dump truck

Small power and hand held tool operation

Customer/Contractor Interaction

Work within a team environment

Minimum Qualification:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Valid Class B CDL (w/ ability to obtain tanker endorsement)

Clean driving record

Be at least 18 years of age

Pass Grade IV Operators exam (1yr of hire date)

Preferred qualifications:

Grade IV Water Operator

Class A CDL with tanker endorsement

1+ year General Excavating Experience

1+ year Water Industry Experience

1+ year Equipment operating experience
