The Chief of Staff, NA Region will report directly to the North American Regional Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role will serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, responsible for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the CFO's office. This role requires a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage complex projects, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and drive strategic initiatives. This role will play a critical role in ensuring alignment between the CFO's priorities and the broader organizational goals.

This role will be located at 1000 Abernathy Road, Sandy Springs, GA and is required to work in the office 3-4 days per week.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the CFO's office, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient use of resources
  • Partner with the CFO to develop and execute strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals and objectives.
  • Drive alignment between the CFO and their direct reports via strong program management.
  • Ensure progress against initiatives and regularly update the CFO and senior leadership team.
  • Lead and manage special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CFO, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Harmonize cross-functional teams, facilitating strategic alignment, communication and collaboration to achieve project and program objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between the CFO and internal/external stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate meetings effectively, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are involved. Foster discussion and decision-making during meetings and represent the CFO in meetings and other forums as required.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and other analyses to support decision-making.
  • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform strategic planning.
  • Analyze organizational processes and performance and make actionable recommendations for enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and overall success.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, strategy, business operation, project management, or related roles, with at least 3 years in leadership.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to prioritize and manage competing demands.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in the pulp and paper manufacturing or a similar global manufacturing environment is a plus.
