Commercial Electrician - MV Terminations Specialist
Location: Raleigh/Morrisville NC

Position Summary
ABM Industries is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Commercial Electrician with specialized expertise in medium voltage (MV) terminations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MV systems, infrared (IR) thermography on low voltage (LV) systems, and a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform commercial electrical installations including lighting, panels, switchgear, breakers, and power distribution equipment.
- Install, inspect, and test medium voltage (MV) cable terminations including live front, load breaks, dead breaks, and splices on 5, 15, 25, and 35kV rated cables.
- Plan layout and install electrical wiring, conduit, and fixtures based on specifications and codes.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of low and medium voltage systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, panel schedules, and technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with IR scans and reporting as needed.
- Lead or train junior electricians and technicians as needed.
- Travel to customer sites (up to 25%) for inspections and testing.
- Complete Job Hazard Analyses including arc-flash and shock risk assessments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of relevant electrical experience preferred.
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
- Proven experience with MV cable terminations (load breaks, dead breaks, splices).
- Familiarity with IR scanning and diagnostic equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of NETA testing standards and NFPA70E electrical safety practices is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to isolate defects in wiring and electrical components.
- Strong understanding of lockout/tagout and hazardous energy control procedures.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and PPE.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour (based on experience and location).
