DevOps Architect

Immediate and Contract to Perm opening for a DevOps Architect in Dallas, TX.

*This role will require onsite work in Dallas, TX 4 days per week*

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Daily tasks and technical projects the new senior platform engineer will handle, including platform modernization, Kubernetes migration, automation scripting, and supporting new service deployments.

• Modernization Projects: the engineer will work on modernizing the platform foundation, transitioning from virtual machines and containers to Kubernetes, with most modern workloads already migrated but some legacy systems remaining.
• Service Deployment Support: will assist new teams in spinning up applications or microservices, deploying and setting up Helm charts, and configuring CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes.
• Automation and Scripting: the role involves writing automation scripts using Terraform, Ansible, Python, Bash, and GitHub Actions to support infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Onboarding and Initial Tasks: initially support day-to-day service deployments to get up to speed before moving on to more foundational modernization work, under the guidance of manager.

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of DevOps/Platform Engineering/Release Engineering Experience
• 3+ recent years experience building/maintaining platforms (platform engineering)
• 3+ years experience with Infrastructure automation tools & Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef .
• Hands on experience using Git as a source control tool
• Expertise in Kubernetes for cluster management, security, networking, and storage solutions.
• Experience with Cloud Platforms & Environments ( AWS )
• Experience with Docker for containerization & Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.
• Prior background working within and supporting large cloud/infra environment
