Experienced Pipe Laborer, Must Know Water & Sewer Line

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Pipe Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and experience working in underground utility installation, particularly with water and sewer lines.

Minimum 12 years of experience in pipe labor or underground utility work

Experience with water and sewer line installation is highly preferred

Familiarity with construction tools and equipment

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various conditions

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (preferred)

Site Preparation

• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Mark and dig trenches to required depths and grades using hand tools or machinery.
• Set up trench boxes and shoring to ensure safety.

Pipe Installation

• Install and align sewer, storm, and water pipelines (PVC, ductile iron, concrete, etc.).
• Measure, cut, and connect pipes using hand and power tools.
• Use lasers, levels, and transits to ensure proper grade and alignment.

Backfilling and Testing

• Backfill trenches after pipe installation, compacting soil as needed.
• Perform air and pressure tests to ensure pipe integrity and check for leaks.
• Repair any leaks or misalignments.

Safety and Compliance

• Follow OSHA and site-specific safety procedures at all times.
• Use proper PPE and maintain safe work zones around trenches and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and environmental regulations.

Coordination and Communication

• Work closely with equipment operators, foremen, and inspectors.
• Communicate with team members to resolve problems or adjust plans as needed.
• Keep daily reports or logs of work performed and materials used.

Maintenance and Cleanup

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Clean up job site and restore surface (e.g., pavement, landscaping) when work is complete
