Hardware Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and oversee architecture, design, testing, and delivery to manufacturing of carrier-grade hardware.
• Participate in developing broadband fiber access systems with PON rates of up to 50Gbps.
• Own all aspects of circuit pack development, including schedule, prototype delivery, product testing, and certification.
• Collaborate with product line management to interpret and negotiate product features and specifications.
• Lead and manage contract resources and interface with component vendors for design specifications.
• Participate in design reviews and guide technical discussions to conclusion.
• Ensure designs meet architecture goals and support technology transfer to manufacturing.

• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of experience in hardware design engineering
• Proficiency in high speed digital design with interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, SERDES, etc.
• Proficiency in board-level development and leading design projects.
• Experience in full cycle hardware development from start to finish
• Understanding of design for testability and manufacturability concepts.

• Experience with Layer 2/3 switching devices
• Experience with pluggable optics is a nice to have

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
