Responsibilities:
- Utilize the software tool, MicroStation, to create accurate and detailed designs for gas and electric systems for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
- Collaborate with builders to understand project requirements and effectively communicate design specifications and progress updates.
- Effectively document and communicate project updates on a weekly basis to internal team members.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.
- Create site plans, determine meter locations, and evaluate routes that align with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and We Energies guidelines.
- Meet with We Energy customers onsite to determine equipment and utility locations.
- Provide a list of quantities and develop cost estimate for the gas and/or electric installation.
- Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and high-quality deliverables are produced.
- Evaluate electric and gas loads to determine proper service and meter size.
Qualifications:
- Secondary education in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical is preferred.
- Driver license and reliable vehicle required.
- Willing to complete site visits and travel to office in inclement weather.
- Experience in gas and/or electric design services, residential, commercial, or industrial properties is a plus.
- Proficient using design software, specifically MicroStation, with a strong understanding of design principles and best practices is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with builders, stakeholders, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle a high workload, managing up to 20 projects concurrently.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on producing accurate and error-free designs.
- Patient and adaptable approach to problem-solving, with the ability to navigate challenges and changes in project requirements.
- Ability to accept constructive criticism and discuss design options in a professional manner.
