- Design material handling equipment such as conveyor belts and other machinery.
- Add capacity to sites, retrofit areas for new equipment, and rearrange existing equipment.
- Figure out layouts and create scope of work for projects.
- Write RFPs, collaborate with vendors for site selection, and manage engineering design handoffs to execution.
- Conduct site visits and develop models to support design specifications.
- Ensure timely completion of projects, meeting all deadlines and milestones.
- Mechanical design of material handling equipment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Solidworks.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, electrical, or manufacturing).
- 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial design.
- Project management skills with hands-on design experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in design across automotive, warehouse systems, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of upstream/downstream changes within systems engineering.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in design engineering, automation, material handling, and conveyor systems.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, Tennessee.
