EDUCATION/TRAINING
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 5 years’ prior experience as a heavy equipment operator preferred.
- You must possess a valid CDL.
- OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety, a plus.
- CPR/First Aid, a plus.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Considerable knowledge of equipment operations and construction and maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and equipment safety.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
- Skill in operation of assigned equipment to include motorized vehicles and equipment, including excavator, shears, grapple, skid steers/bobcat, roller/compactor, loaders, dump truck pickup truck, utility truck,
- Ability to read and understand work orders and organize work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work effectively and amicably with other people.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to work independently or in a team situation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to do the following for a period: stoop, kneel, reach, lift, walk, weed whack, and sit.
- Some climbing and balancing.
- High noise levels are common with general maintenance.
- Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours.
- Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
- This is an Onsite position that requires work to be performed onsite at an Aleut location.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This is an Onsite position that requires work to be performed onsite at an Aleut location.
- This role requires work in a non-office setting, outdoor and industrial locations.
- Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dust, mist, and/or fumes.
- Required the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- We require wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection.
- Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a valid CDL with no restrictions on Airbrakes.
- Must be able to pass a medical physical determining fitness for duty.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test.
- Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.
- Must be available for regular standby assignments and work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
- Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
- Must be proficient with the English Language per contract.
