Senior Construction Inspector

WSP is currently initiating a search for Full-time Senior Construction Inspectors for our Orlando Airport Field Office. There are two positions available, one day shift and one night shift. Be involved in projects with our Owner's Authorized Representative Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

Job Duties:

• Attend required training and certification classes.
• Prepares weekly reports, onsite inspection, facility inspection as needed, be on site daily, be visible to the contractor and GOAA.
• Perform physical inspection of variety of discipline activities which may include but not limited to concrete structures and building systems.
• Try to anticipate the unforeseen; use your knowledge to help prevent unacceptable work by the contractor. The contractors are working in an operational airport; situational awareness is required at all times.
• Take daily photos which are used as documentation of the site with daily uploads to the GOAA "BOX". Following the naming nomenclature.
• Attend weekly meetings.
• When incidents occur, get to the location as soon as possible and make sure contractors follow the correct protocols.
• Performs related work as required or assigned.
• Plan, monitor, review and work with the contractors to minimize disruption to GOAA's Operations.

Who You Are

Minimal Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• 9 years of construction related experience
• 5 years of construction/civil infrastructure inspection experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and audiences that include but not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors
• Ability to lead, learn and apply knowledge of applicable local / state and federal codes, statues and guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a time conscious and time-effective manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

• College Degree
• Knowledge and experience in airport operations and construction is preferred.
• Experience with APM's, airport construction, concrete, asphalt
• Certification by recognized authority is preferred
• Intermediate or expert computer and software skills to include use of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows.
• Excellent written and communication skills
• This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.
