Job Description
Senior Architect
Provide complete planning and architectural services related to improvements to or remodeling of BYU facilities and minor new buildings. The planning and architectural services include but are not limited to the following: Meeting with clients, concept studies, preliminary plans, working drawings, specification preparation, assisting with the preparation of project approval forms, assisting with project inspections, approving shop drawings and reviewing / stamping drawings prepared by the designers and/or architects within the department.
What you'll do in this position:
- Lead Design Project Manager for shop projects
- Lead Design Project Manager on select contract projects
- Manage consulting architects on larger projects
- Promote a positive image of the department and the university.
- Support activities of the department and other university departments
- Review & stamp construction documents for shop & contract projects produced by the Facilities Planning Architectural Department.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- At least ten (10) years of experience working in an Architect's office
- At least five (5) years of experience using AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam.
- Expert ability in the use of Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
- Thorough familiarity with construction specification writing and software.
- Thorough understanding of the International Building Code.
- Thorough understanding of the ADA Accessibility Guidelines 2010 (ADAAG) & the ICC ANSI A117.1 2009
- Working knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, data and audiovisual systems, building site design, interior design and building structural systems.
- Complete knowledge of all aspects of building construction and materials.
- Excellent management and interpersonal relationship skills
- Utah Licensed Architect
Preferred
- Master's degree in architecture

Pay Grade: 55
Typical Starting Pay: $89,500.00 to $116,000.00
