SUMMARY

Stampede Ventures, a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Assistant Project Manager for construction related project managed from the Belcamp Office. This position is to assist the Project Manager at all levels of a construction project. This support relates to estimating, contractor coordination, safety, and other aspects of construction projects managed from the Belcamp, MD office location. This is a growth position and that the candidate is expected to be highly motivated to grow within the organization, find ways to be more valuable to the team, drive business & customer relationships, and work to eventually become a PM.

Wage/Salary Range: $80,000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • This position will work closely with Project Managers, Operations Managers, Quality Control, and Superintendents and will build diverse experience in the areas of permitting, scheduling, procurement, document control, and other essential functions. You will be empowered to grow, take charge, and make an impact.
  • Develop strong relationships and ensure close collaboration and communication with owners, decision-makers, influencers, architects, engineers, code and enforcement officials, and other external customers critical to a project's success.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors and vendors; treat them fairly and professionally in all interactions and set an example for others to do the same.
  • Work with the PM/OM to monitor project costs to ensure the project is kept within budget, including General Condition costs, labor budgets, and trade costs.
  • Assist in communicating accurate project schedule information to subcontractors/suppliers regarding schedule dates and coordination among all trades.
  • Monitor and maintain the procurement schedule; proactively identify and resolve problems, track the status of the schedule on a weekly basis, and make updates and adjustments timely and accurately.
  • Manage and delegate effectively the following so as not to delay the project:
  • Material procurement and tracking
  • Maintain an accurate drawing log at all times
  • Adhere to and promote SVI's risk management and safety policies and procedures and partner with the Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Superintendents to ensure compliance.
  • This position will be empowered as a member of the BSNC safety team and will have the authority to stop work at any time and remove a worker from site as necessary.
  • Ensure that comprehensive punch lists are created, communicated, and completed as required by the contract documents and Quality plan.
  • Manage the closeout process effectively.
  • Work with the QC and Superintendent to assist in day to day functions of the projects.
  • This person must develop a general understanding of what BSNC does in the region and worldwide to be able to speak to our capabilities in interactions with customers.
  • Travel as needed to support the project.
  • Putting calendar invites out for RFI and Proposal due dates
  • Putting proposal documents together for us to complete (cover sheet setup, estimate setup, RSMeans setup) - he should take the RSMeans training with you
  • Reviewing and doing schedule updates
  • Project Status Report updates for multiple contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the construction industry
  • Experience directing, training, scheduling, and motivating personnel
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all clearances and identification requirements
  • Understanding of federal contractor requirements and ability to adhere and manage

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, with customers, and with high level VIPs
  • Detail oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize significant amounts of information
  • RMS Experience
  • Microsoft Project and/or Primavera Scheduling

Preferred

  • Experience directly with federal construction projects
  • Ability to read blueprints

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required. Ability to maneuver around project sites and assist the PM/QC/Super as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
