Fabrication Supervisor-First Shift - Seymour, CT

Summary

Work Fabrication Manager to ensure robotic weld department operations achieve the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Supervise personnel, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with ISO, Quality and GD&T requirements, as well as company procedures and lean manufacturing principles.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Align production workflow with schedules to meet delivery targets.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and coach employees for optimal results.
  • Drive continuous improvement using lean principles and team engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Fabrication Manager on process optimization and problem-solving.
  • Ensure all products meet customer, Quality, and GD&T specifications.
  • Conduct and verify first-piece inspections.
  • Read and interpret prints, inspection drawings, and GD&T requirements for precision manufacturing.
  • Maintain material traceability and proper documentation in the ERP system.
  • Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Enforce safe work practices, and correct equipment use. Familiarity with 5S standards a plus.
  • Report and investigate incidents or near-misses in coordination with other departments and proper processes.

Recommended Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience in fabrication or manufacturing.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and manage personnel matters discreetly and professionally.
  • Knowledge of GD&T standards. Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 a plus.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and CNC/robotic machine programming. Knowledge of M3 system a plus but willing to train.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting tools.
