We are looking for Journey level Painters. At PRST, you'll support residential contractors in the Sherwood, Oregon and surrounding areas. In this Painter role, you'll enjoy weekly pay, health insurance benefits and a flexible work schedule. As a journeyman painter you will prepare and apply paints, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, interior residential. You will work with a range of tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers, to achieve desired finishes and protect surfaces. You will also prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and filling imperfections. Note: The hourly rate for this position is $26 - $32 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Scraping: Removing dirt, loose paint, and other debris from surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of new paint
  • Sanding: Smoothing surfaces to create a uniform base for painting
  • Filling: Addressing imperfections like cracks and holes with appropriate fillers
  • Taping and Covering: Protecting areas not meant to be painted with tape, plastic
  • Applying Finishes: Using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment to apply paint, varnish, and other coatings
  • Inspecting: Ensuring a high-quality finish with no imperfections
  • Operating and Maintaining Equipment: Keeping painting tools and equipment in good working order, including sprayers, brushes, and ladders
  • Safety Procedures: Adhering to safety guidelines and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintaining Work Area: Keeping the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
  • Must have a min of 3 years of residential or commercial painting experience
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Have basic tools for the trade and work boots
  • We provide required PPE
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Able to repeatedly lift 50 pounds in order to load and unload wood and other materials as well as carry needed tools and materials to and from the jobsite
