Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities of Construction Managers

1. Site Oversight

Daily Monitoring: Oversee the day-to-day construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.

Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including OSHA regulations and company-specific safety procedures. Have the authority to stop work if safety violations are observed.

Quality Assurance: Verify that construction work meets quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections and establish hold points for critical inspections.

Coordination: Interface with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensures smooth project execution. Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings.

2. Reporting

Daily Reports: Prepare and submit daily reports detailing site conditions, work progress, and any issues encountered. These reports should be entered in UPPM for under the proper EPSID. A copy of the job brief must be attached in the attachment section along with pictures of the work taking place. Make sure you capture all the work taking place for the day in the report. Add what was discussed in the job brief under the safety reflections. Reference the energy wheel and the EFPTB.

Incident Reporting: Document and report any incidents, accidents, or near-misses promptly. Call your SPCM as soon as safely possible to report. Participate in incident investigations and follow-up actions. Gather any information that may be needed on site prior to your SPCM arriving.

Scope Changes: Identify and communicate any needed changes to the project scope to your SPCM and ensure proper approvals are obtained prior to any change order work taking place.

Environmental Compliance: Ensure that all environmental regulations are followed, including stormwater management and spill response procedures. Work with the environmental COC to understand what is needed to stay in compliance on the job sites. Make sure crews have spill kits and have the spill hotline phone number.

3. Documentation and Communication

Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of all site activities, inspections, and communications. Ensure documentation is filed according to company procedures.

Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and clients. Address any concerns or questions promptly.

Training and Onboarding: Assist in the onboarding of new contractors and ensure they are familiar with site-specific safety and operational procedures.

4. Additional Responsibilities

Material Management: Verify that materials delivered to the site are correct, undamaged, and stored properly. Coordinate material deliveries with the construction schedule.

Problem Resolution : Act as the primary point of contact for resolving field issues. Work with the project team to address and resolve any design or construction problems.

Customer Interaction: Support the project team in communicating with customers and resolving any complaints or issues that arise during construction
