Position Summary

The Aircraft Painter is responsible for preparing, painting and finishing aircraft surfaces in accordance with manufacturer specifications, regulatory requirements and company quality standards. This role ensures high-quality coatings that protect aircraft structures and maintain aesthetic standards.

Personal Characteristics

· Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking and stripping old coatings

· Mix and apply primers, paints, and finishes using spray equipment and other tools

· Interpret technical drawings, paint schemes, and manufacturer instructions

· Ensure proper surface preparation and coating thickness in compliance with specifications

· Inspect painted surfaces for defects and perform touch-ups or rework as required

· Maintain paint equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and serviceable condition

· Follow all safety procedures, including the use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials

· Comply with aviation regulations and company quality standards (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA if applicable)

· Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to meet production schedules

· Mechanical aptitude, trainable

· Strong knowledge of basic hand tools

· Highly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environment

· Professional and respectful, with a positive work attitude

· Timely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essential

· Motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

· H igh school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)

· Previous experience in aircraft painting, automotive painting, or industrial coating

· Knowledge of paint systems, surface prep techniques and spray equipment

· Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

· Familiarity with safety regulations and hazardous material handling

· Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System

· Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications

· Attention to detail and quality workmanship

· Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

· Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights

· Time management and ability to meet deadlines

· Team-oriented with good communication skills

· The ability to work independently and contribute to a diverse team.

· High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent

· Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset

· Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations

Working Conditions

· Work performed in hangars, paint booths and confined spaces

· Exposure to fumes, chemicals and noise (PPE required)

· May require shift work, overtime, or weekend work

· Physically demanding (lifting, standing, climbing)

· Various shifts
