Electrical - Journeyman

Role is responsible for performing all electrical tasks with limited general supervision. Applicant can demonstrate experience as a Journeyman Electrician

Key Responsibilities:

Install services, feeders, circuits and conduit

Install and terminate switchgear and other devices

Perform layout and preparation for installation

Perform underground layout and installation

Troubleshoot motors and controls

Fully comprehends Electrical theory and NFPA 70 National Electric Code

Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

Able to work in all elements, depending on job location, time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow)

Must supply hand tools and carry them at all times

Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs., includes, equipment, tools and boxes

Able to work from all types of ladders and perform work at various heights

Possess sound eyesight to positively identify colors of wires

Able to bend conduit with hand or with mechanical benders

Able to operate trenchers, backhoe, and manlifts in a safe manner or be willing to learn

Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or with power equipment

May be required to work long and unpredictable hours

Minimum Qualifications: Technical Skills:

Must hold a current OR Electrical License

Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics

Practices and comprehends Ontivity, Legacy Division safety policy

Able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background screening and drug testing

Possess a valid driver's license and willing to submit to DOT Physical

MVR record must meet insurance company eligibility

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and team working skills

Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions

Supervisory Requirements:

May be required to supervise and train apprentices

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days Monday through Friday

Variable hours between (and sometimes outside of) 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Night work occasionally during maintenance window, to meet customer requirements

Frequent required overtime

Travel

Some travel required.

Required Education and Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED);

Related trade school education required

Current Journeyman

Must be licensed in MT, and be willing to acquire licensing in WA, OR, and ID within 180 days
