Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of welding experience
• Experience with FCAW, also known as wire welding
• Experience with SMAW, also known as stick welding
• Ability to pass a military specification welding assessment in the following positions:
  • Vertical 3G
  • Horizontal 2G
  • Overhead 4G

Job Description:
A Welder is responsible for joining different types of metal materials using a variety of welding processes, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding, also known as SMAW or stick welding, and Flux-Core Arc Welding, also known as FCAW or wire welding.

The shipyard environment is an around-the-clock manufacturing setting. Production areas may require working at heights, in confined spaces, in various weather conditions, and across multiple shifts. Welders may be required to work either day or night shift depending on production needs.

HKA places a strong emphasis on safety, with procedures that meet and often exceed industry standards. Candidates must be able to pass a military specification welding assessment in the vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
