Utility Construction Laborer

Specialized Communication Services, LLC is seeking a hardworking Utility Construction Laborer to join our field crew in the St. George area. You will assist with installing and repairing underground utilities and communication lines across southern Utah. This role requires high physical stamina to work in hot desert climates, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work full-time plus consistent overtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Dig and prep trenches using shovels, picks, and hand tools.
• Assist pipe layers by guiding, placing, and connecting utility and communication lines.
• Operate company vehicles and transport tools safely to local job sites.
• Operate light machinery such as jumping jacks, trench tampers, and concrete saws.
• Set up traffic control using signs, cones, and flags to secure desert jobsites.
• Spot heavy equipment operators to ensure safe excavation around existing utilities.
• Maintain a clean site by clearing red rock, debris, and hazards daily.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Availability for full-time schedule plus regular overtime hours.
• Valid Drivers License with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required.
• CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is highly preferred.
• Heat tolerance to work outdoors in Southern Utah summer temperatures.
• Physical strength to repeatedly lift 5075 lbs and stand for long shifts.
• Reliable transportation to travel to local sites.
• Pass a drug screen and standard background check.
• OSHA 10 or Blue Stakes knowledge is highly preferred but not required.
