Job Title: Architectural Designer (Junior to Intermediate)

Job Description

This role offers a junior to intermediate Architectural Designer the opportunity to support a growing portfolio of ground-up multifamily residential projects across Westchester and Fairfield County. You will work closely with a small, in-office team to develop and produce high-quality drawing sets, primarily in Revit, with exposure to projects from early design through construction documentation. The position focuses heavily on technical production and execution, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and contributing to multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce complete architectural drawing sets primarily in Revit, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to project standards.
  • Independently generate production drawings and details within a Revit environment, supporting the technical execution of multifamily residential projects.
  • Support or produce construction document (CD) sets, including managing redlines and incorporating technical detailing as directed.
  • Contribute to projects from schematic design (SD) through construction documentation (CD), gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle.
  • Assist with unit layouts, code-related considerations, and coordination typical of multifamily residential work, including affordable housing projects.
  • Prepare and support permit sets, ensuring compliance with zoning and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with consultants and internal team members to coordinate drawings and resolve design and technical issues.
  • Work on multiple active projects simultaneously in a production-focused environment, managing time and priorities effectively.
  • Take direction from leadership and staff, executing tasks efficiently and consistently.
  • Participate in a small, highly collaborative team, contributing ideas, communicating clearly, and supporting a culture of reliability and responsiveness.

Essential Skills

  • Strong working proficiency in Revit, with the ability to independently produce complete drawing sets within a Revit environment.
  • Experience supporting or producing construction document (CD) sets, including familiarity with redlines and technical detailing.
  • Exposure to multifamily residential projects, including unit layouts, code constraints, and coordination typical of residential work.
  • Understanding of ground-up projects and the full project lifecycle from schematic design (SD) through construction documentation (CD).
  • 1-7 years of professional architectural experience.
  • Accredited degree in Architecture (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills suited to a small, collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to take direction and execute tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong technical production work.
  • Comfort working in a technical, production-heavy role rather than a purely conceptual design position.
  • Ability and willingness to work in-office 5 days per week.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with AutoCAD for architectural production and documentation.
  • Experience or interest in affordable housing projects and associated zoning and code considerations.
  • Experience preparing permit sets and coordinating with consultants.
  • Comfort working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated reliability, consistency, and responsiveness in prior roles.
  • Interest in working closely with firm leadership and taking advantage of accelerated growth opportunities in a small firm environment.

Work Environment

  • This is a fully in-office role, 5 days per week, based in Port Chester, NY. You will join a small team of approximately six people in a highly collaborative environment with low hierarchy and high visibility.
  • The studio operates out of a co-working building owned by a key client, with the firm occupying a full floor.
  • The workload is driven by an active pipeline of ground-up multifamily residential projects, creating a fast-paced, production-focused atmosphere where team members are expected to contribute quickly and take on multiple responsibilities.
  • The culture emphasizes consistency, reliability, and responsiveness, while also offering benefits such as Summer Fridays as part of the team's work-life balance and overall positive work environment.
