Carpenter / Waterproofing Technician / Remodeling

Lahaina Contractor is seeking an experienced carpenter/remodeling technician for an exterior renovation and waterproofing project on Maui.

Work includes:

Demolition of existing lanai waterproofing systems
Removal of deteriorated stucco, flashing, scuppers, plywood decking, and waterproof membranes
Installation of new plywood decking and structural sleepers to correct drainage slopes
Installation of stainless steel flashing systems
Application of UPI waterproofing systems (primer, base coat, mid-coat, sand cast, and top coat)
Exterior door replacement
General carpentry and remodeling work

Requirements:

Strong carpentry and remodeling experience
Ability to read a tape measure and perform quality work without constant supervision
Must be comfortable working at heights and from aerial lifts/man lifts
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Ability to lift and carry construction materials
Positive attitude and dependable attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with deck waterproofing systems
Experience with UPI products or similar waterproofing systems
Experience with flashing installation and exterior envelope repairs

Training:

We are coordinating formal UPI waterproofing training with the manufacturer. Candidates without direct UPI experience may be considered if they have strong carpentry and construction skills and are willing to learn.

Employment:

We are primarily seeking full-time employees. Employees are paid through ProService Hawaii and are eligible for company benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), and other available employee benefits.

Position Duration:

While this position is being hired for a current waterproofing and renovation project, we are looking to build our team for the long term. Candidates who demonstrate quality workmanship, reliability, and a positive attitude may have the opportunity for continued employment on future projects.

Qualified 1099 subcontractors may also be considered if all required licensing, insurance, and tax requirements are current and verifiable.

Compensation:

Competitive pay based on experience, qualifications, and ability to work independently.
