Job Summary
As an Auto Body Repair Technician, you'll be responsible for performing expert repairs and refinishing work on damaged vehicles. You'll ensure that all work is completed according to Mullins Body Shop standards, manufacturer specifications, and insurance partner guidelineswith an emphasis on safety, precision, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct full disassembly of vehicles to support accurate damage assessment and repair planningIdentify all necessary repairs up front to avoid delays and minimize supplemental workFollow detailed repair procedures outlined in work ordersSafely remove and store vehicle components such as trim, seats, and electrical parts to access damaged areasRepair structural and cosmetic damage using welding, hammering, filling, or panel replacement techniquesOperate a wide range of shop tools, including welders, torches, grinders, sanders, and spray gunsPrepare repaired areas for painting by filing, sanding, and priming according to OEM specificationsSupport the paint department by assisting with blending, sanding, and finishing to meet factory-quality standardsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper disposal of hazardous materialsPerform final checks, including polishing, buffing, and road testing to ensure vehicles meet safety and quality expectationsCommunicate with team members to ensure timely progress on repair schedulesAssist with shop tasks such as vehicle cleaning or maintenance, as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 18 years of ageProven experience in auto body repair and refinishing preferredStrong attention to detail and craftsmanshipAbility to read and interpret estimates and work ordersEffective verbal communication and team collaboration skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple prioritiesCustomer-focused with a professional, friendly demeanorMust maintain a clean, professional appearanceWelding experienceBody repair experience
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and overhead reachingExposure to noise, chemicals, dust, and changing weather conditionsMust use appropriate safety gear and protective equipmentVisual acuity required to inspect work and ensure precision
