Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Federal Lead Superintendent to lead the execution of large-scale, ground-up federal construction projects. This role requires a proven field leader who has successfully delivered at least one $20M+ federal project as the Lead Superintendent, with a strong preference for candidates who have executed multiple projects of similar scale and complexity.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience across the full construction lifecyclefrom site development, grading, and utilities through vertical construction, MEP systems, and final interior buildoutwithin a federally regulated environment. This individual will lead field operations, enforce safety and quality standards, and drive schedule performance on a complex, multi-building project.

This is a high-urgency, mission-critical role supporting active federal construction, with strong potential for long-term project continuity.

Work Environment & Location:

Project: Camp Bowie Training Center Upgrades

Location: Brownwood, TX

Client: Texas Military Department (Texas National Guard)

Project Value: $24M

Project Scope:

  • Ground-up construction of four barracks buildings (29,000 total SF)
  • Full civil and site development, including utilities and grading
  • Structural, MEP systems, fire protection, and IT infrastructure
  • Exterior improvements including paving, walkways, and site modifications
  • Demolition and replacement of existing infrastructure

Work Environment:

  • Active military training facility with structured, safety-driven operations
  • Full lifecycle project currently in progressopportunity to lead through completion and closeout
  • Public-sector project environment with defined processes and compliance standards
  • Collaborative coordination with government stakeholders, subcontractors, and project teams

Per Diem & Benefits:

  • Weekly pay
  • Paid travel days (Monday & Friday every 4 weeks; no PTO required)
  • Per diem package ($5,340/month equivalent):
  • Lodging: $110/day ($3,300/month)
  • Meals & incidentals: $68/day ($2,040/month)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all on-site construction activities for a ground-up federal project
  • Manage full project lifecycle including:
  • Site development, grading, and utilities
  • Vertical construction and building envelope
  • MEP systems installation
  • Interior buildout and project closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, including:
  • Baseline schedules
  • Subcontractor integration
  • Three-week lookaheads
  • Schedule control and recovery planning
  • Enforce OSHA compliance and lead site-specific safety programs
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and field crews
  • Oversee:
  • RFI and submittal processes
  • Quality control inspections and benchmarking
  • Documentation and reporting via Procore and related systems
  • Manage site logistics, utility coordination, and sequencing
  • Support cost progress tracking and validation of work-in-place
  • Drive project closeout, turnover, and documentation for government acceptance

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Proven experience as a Lead Superintendent on at least one $20M+ federal ground-up project
  • 35+ years in federal construction in a supervisory field leadership role
  • Full lifecycle field experience from sitework through vertical and interior construction
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Federal construction standards and compliance requirements
    • OSHA safety regulations and enforcement
    • Advanced scheduling experience with Primavera P6
  • Proficiency with:
    • Procore
    • Bluebeam Revu
    • Timberline (Sage)
    • Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePoint
  • Strong skills in subcontractor coordination, quality control, and inspection management
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Preferred:

  • USACE (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) project experience
  • Experience with RMS (Resident Management System)
  • Background with large commercial/federal general contractors (ENR firms a plus)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
