Assures all valves are prepared, assembled, tested, cleaned, and maintained to ensure engineering standards/procedures and customer order specifications. Performs related duties as assigned. Reports Production Department Manager Areas of Responsibility (Assigned by Manager when hired) + First Assembly + Final Assembly + Pilot Assembly + Sand Blast/Epoxy + Painting Department + Cleaning and Test Department Examples of Duties and Responsibilities + Ensures production workflow is maintained given scheduling and job changes. + Coordinates a cross-trained environment and develops employee motivational skills. + Provides safe work practices and techniques; + Inspects work in progress and upon completion; + Executes and tracks departmental productivity metrics as assigned by manager; + Demonstrates proper assembly, inspection, maintenance, and cleaning procedures and techniques; + Demonstrates proper operation of hand and power tools and assembly equipment; + Provides training on testing procedures, blueprint interpretation, and bill of material requirements; + Works with Production Control and Engineering departments to develop best practices within assembly areas of responsibility; + Fully executes the building, painting, and assembly of materials subject to build. + Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and + Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES Any combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following: + High school diploma or GED; + 5 years' experience in pipeline or plumbing; experience in assembly practices and procedures, preferably including work in a lead capacity. Mechanical background with hands-on experience in building and manufacturing. Trained in forklift truck operation. Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English. Preferred: Associate's degree in project management is preferred; Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Prior experience in municipal pipe systems is a plus. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: + Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints; + Is a self-starter who looks for areas of improvement; + Knowledge of assembly procedures for making valves and controls; + Strong problem-solving skills; + Experience in project management software and critical path execution of project building + Ability to operate and demonstrate the use of hand and power tools; + Ability to compile and maintain accurate work records; + Knowledge of plumbing and pipe fixtures; + Ability to organize, coordinate, assign, and check work activities; + Ability to provide recommendations and feedback on employee performance evaluations to the manager; + Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with specifications, schematics, bill of materials, and shop routers; + Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing; and + Ability to interact effectively with subordinates, facility resources, and management. + Ability to operate cranes or lifting mechanisms to facilitate the build. Physical Requirements: + Ability to bend, lift, and move materials weighing 40 pounds or less; + Ability to stand for extended periods; + Ability to climb, crawl, and lay on solid surfaces; and + Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined. + Reasonable accommodation is provided upon request.
