This is a leadership role for someone who can balance multiple timelines, personalities, and project threads with calm authority. You'll oversee internal teams, manage client relationships, and coordinate consultants, contractors, and fabricators to carry design through every detail.

Success in this role requires clear, responsive communication, technical problem-solving, and deep collaboration. You'll serve as a steady presence across the full project lifecycleworking closely with the firm's principals, trusted craftspeople, and junior staff to ensure the work is elegant, rigorous, and well-executed.

Core Responsibilities

Develop project workplans, schedules, deliverables, and drawing lists in alignment with studio capacity.

Lead regular internal reviews to ensure design quality and fidelity to intent.

Manage approvals (LPC, DOB, community boards) and oversee timelines for submissions and client briefings.

Ensure project close-out, including punch lists, warranties, and documentation.

Client Management

Lead client meetings with prepared agendas, drawing reviews, and clear documentation of decisions and next steps.

Team Leadership

Assign, review, and track work across team members; ensure deliverables are coordinated and on time.

Create a project cadence that supports accountability and avoids burnout.

Mentor junior staff through clear communication, problem-solving, and thoughtful leadership.

Technical Oversight (Revit & Documentation)

Manage Revit models; ensure modeling integrity, efficiency, and clarity.

Set up drawing sets, enforce office standards, and lead QA/QC reviews.

Translate design intent into clear technical documentation with support from design leads.

Consultant & Contractor Coordination

Integrate consultant work into drawing sets and oversee timelines (MEP, structural, lighting, etc.).

Lead permitting and DOB filing coordination.

Handle RFIs, submittals, site meetings, and technical troubleshooting during construction.

Budgeting, Contracts & Admin

Support fee tracking, staffing planning, and deliverables in collaboration with leadership.

Lead pricing and value-engineering efforts to align with client budgets.

Use project tracking tools to manage decisions, deadlines, and deliverables.

Coordinate invoices, proposals, and contract tasks with the studio administrator.

Qualifications

Professional degree in Architecture; licensed or on licensure track strongly preferred.

6-10 years of experience, including 2+ years in a project leadership role.

Strong proficiency in Revit, Sketchup and Adobe Creative Suite; experience managing large models and drawing sets.

Skilled in construction detailing, consultant coordination, and technical documentation.

Outstanding communication and organizational abilities.

Experience with NYC approvals (DOB, LPC, etc.) required.

Calm, clear-headed leadership style with a collaborative spirit.

Experience in high-end residential, adaptive reuse, and ground up construction.
