Carpenter

Looking for an experienced carpenter with at least 5 years of prior experience. Job location will vary, in and around Cedar Rapids, IA area. Must have skills in finish trim work, baseboard, casing, crown molding, pre hung doors, steel frame doors, and hanging drywall. Be able to work from sketches and drawings, as well as verbal and written descriptions of whats required, to complete the job to the right specifications. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES High school diploma or GED certificate Drivers license Must have personal basic hand tools required to accomplish general tasks. Able to use common hand tools and power tools Problem-solving skills and common sense. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to take measurements and make calculations. Ability to use logic not only to solve problems but also to foresee them before they occur. Quality Control Keen attention to detail. PPE and carpentry trade tools. Troubleshooting and communication skills. Must be able to problem-solve when issues arise in a project. Oral and written communication skills. Appropriate health and safety precautions and procedures. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Regular exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises. Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 100 pounds. Climbing ladders and working from heights as necessary. Bend or twist the body. Repeat the same movements. Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
