Carpenters + Skilled Laborers Job Description This role involves working on various commercial construction projects within a 60-mile radius of Waterloo. The focus is on projects ranging from $1 million to $15 million, including remodels and new buildings, particularly at UNI. You will perform a range of construction tasks such as demolition, earthwork, concrete placement and finishing, layout preparation, framework erection, ceiling and wall installation, welding, and signaling operators. We value specialization and will try to keep you working within your area of expertise, while also expecting flexibility to undertake different tasks on the job site. Responsibilities Perform demolition work and earthwork excavations. Place and finish concrete surfaces. Prepare layouts for construction projects. Erect framework for building structures. Install ceilings and walls. Weld and signal operators for construction tasks. Conduct other construction-related activities as needed. Essential Skills 1+ years of construction experience. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Capability to work in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic hand tools are required: tool pouches, hammer, tape measure, speed square, utility knife.
