Job Description:

The role of the Construction MEP Engineer requires strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills, an ability to self-direct, a strong knowledge in data center design engineering controls and operational requirements, and deep expertise in electrical and mechanical systems. This role will provide leadership for all field-related MEP mission-critical activities and coordinate with DCD PM and subcontractors for proper execution. The Data Center Development (DCD) Construction Manager is ultimately responsible for the complete project delivery for each site location. The DCD Construction MEP Engineer ensures that each project meets the Data Center Development Guidelines and standards, which may be adjusted based on best practices and lessons learned from previous projects as well as industry-changing best practices. The MEP Engineer will coordinate site conflicts and queries regarding design drawings and specifications in the form of RFIs with the design team to unblock the project schedule. In managing the delivery of projects, this position aligns team objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts with the Data Center Development Project Strategy, resulting in effective client relationship management, cost management efficiency, and project delivery. The DCD Construction MEP Engineer will be a relentless advocate for managing a safe worksite, as safety is one of the four pillars of our mission in delivering cloud capacity, joined by quality, schedule adherence, and cost management. The DCD MEP Engineer will also collaborate with our business risk management and other internal groups to maintain the corporate vision and goals for the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other MEP devices.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to the maintenance crew.
  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.
Essential Skills:
  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Team player and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in data center, blueprint reading, mechanical, electrical, plumbing.
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $68.00/hr.
