Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for set up, maintenance, and operation of various types of machinery and programming. This position may require routine assembly operations including electronic components utilizing schematics and blue prints. Performs routine quality inspections before and after assembly using standard measuring devices to ensure conformance of all product specifications.

Essential Job Functions

  • Set up and operate machines to produce parts to established tolerances and specifications.
  • Set up and operate welding and grinding machinery.
  • Inspect parts before and after assembly using standard measuring devices to established tolerances and specifications.
  • Operate spray foam insulation and sandblast equipment.
  • Perform routine assembly operations including electronic components as required..
  • Perform required spray foam testing to ensure functionality and document appropriately.
  • Perform visual inspection and notify the quality inspector of any material defects.
  • Perform all required inspections and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Meet all company quality standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machines.
  • Set up and operate shear, brake and roll machine.
  • Plan the sequence of machining to achieve an efficient production cycle.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Ability to handle material using proper lifting devices.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
  • Overtime is a mandatory condition of employment and frequent in this position

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)

  • Understanding of manufacturing tools and their proper use.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow blue prints and/or schematics.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Willingness to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to follow directions while working independently.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Ability to operate various Powered Industrial Vehicles.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • One (1) year of manufacturing and/or machine operating experience preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures. Machinery with energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, or other energy.

Base Compensation Range: $18.00 - $23.70 per hour

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary based on company performance (as of 2024).
