Mazak Corporation is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering Department in the Production facility. The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, and supports electrical systems for manufacturing machinery, ensuring high-quality, customer-specific solutions. This role involves PLC programming, electrical schematic design, and collaboration on cross-functional project teams to meet sales and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Scope and Responsibilities: Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all associates. Support the design and development of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry and internal company standards (NFPA 79, UL, CE, Yamazaki Standards). Supports innovation in design processes, following best practices and standards. Development and support of new, reconditioned, and retrofitted options. Design and detailing of electrical schematics as required for multiple machine projects. - Tasks include the design and detailing of: Design specifications, system component layout, specification of electrical components, cable routing, PLC logic. - Design administrative duties include the following: Attendance at project design reviews, preparing necessary documentation including electrical bill of materials, schematic and cable drawings, operation manuals and other supportive documentation. Works within electrical design project budgets. Works as member of a project team to complete project goals. Assumes supportive design engineer role on assigned projects. Maintains and tracks personal workloads. Travel for customer engagements, industry events, or special projects. Education/Certification: Associate degree in electrical or related engineering discipline; bachelor's degree (or equivalent education), or equivalent experience. Experience: Entry Level experience in a related field or study. Skills: Project management and execution of tasks. Working knowledge of the CNC machining industry is a plus. Basic knowledge of electrical design standards (NFPA 79, UL, CE) and circuit design (24VDC to 480VAC). Computer literate with knowledge of computer aided design software techniques. (MS Office, 2D CAD techniques - AutoCAD preferred). Experience with Mitsubishi PLC programming is preferred. Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron PLC/HMI programming is a plus but not required. Familiarization with industrial networking protocols such as Ethernet IP, Profibus, CC-Link is a plus but not required. Experience with various programming languages such as C++, C#, Visual Basic, Python is also a plus but not required. Experience with G-code programming is a plus but not required. Willingness to travel up to 10 to 15% of the time.
