Job Description
We are hiring for a Senior Engineer to lead municipal projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Cape May Court House, NJ . Primary Responsibilities: Work on a variety of projects; this includes municipal engineering for municipalities (including subdivision & land development reviews, road rehabilitation, stormwater management (SWM), capital improvements, grant writing, and attendance at public meetings). Manage capital improvement projects for municipal clients. Review applications before planning, zoning, and/or land-use boards. Coordinate master planning-related tasks. Serve as a Municipal Engineer and a Board Engineer (especially while representing Land-Use Boards). Preparation of engineering reports. Work on project design and permitting. Prepare proposals and budget estimates. Supervise staff in the design of engineering projects (including roadways, drainage, water, wastewater, other utilities, and site development). Provide mentorship to less-experience staff members. Perform (outdoor) construction inspection work, when needed. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed. Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering). 10+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with infrastructure projects. PE license. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Municipal Engineer [CME] credential is preferred. Management and/or Project Management experience; proven ability to manage multi-discipline projects is strongly preferred. Advanced expertise working with design and permitting activities. Experience working on wet utility (water and/or wastewater) projects. Experience working with water resources (such as stream and waterway restoration) is a plus! Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, GIS, analytical programs, etc.); experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS / ArcInfo is preferred. Experience with H&H tools (e.g.: HydroCAD, InfoSWWM, OpenFlows WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, & SewerGEMS) is a plus! Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook). Proven ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision while displaying a positive attitude. Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written); technical writing skills are strongly preferred!
