- Understand the day's activities using 2-3 week lookaheads and planning.
- Walk the site to assess changes in conditions from the previous day and address hazards.
- Verify the safety of fall protection devices installed overnight.
- Ensure proper lighting and clear access/egress locations for arriving crews.
- Maintain visibility and appropriateness of site signage.
- Account for fire extinguishers, ensuring they are regularly checked and accessible.
- Receive and review Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) for completeness and provide feedback.
- Distribute copies of PTPs to relevant parties before work begins.
- Observe leaders conducting PTP reviews with their teams.
- Conduct equipment inspections and reject incomplete paperwork.
- Lead weekly and regular safety meetings to address safety needs and issues.
- Review and discuss daily safety forms such as Hot Work, Confined Space, and Scaffolding Inspections.
- Conduct continuous site walks with PTPs to ensure adherence to safety plans.
- Monitor housekeeping conditions and site safety, especially when multiple trades are present.
- Ensure safety equipment like extinguishers and AEDs are accessible and functional.
- Stop any unsafe work immediately.
- Complete and upload daily and weekly safety inspections into Procore.
- Conduct end-of-day site walks to ensure safety for overnight crews and emergency services.
- Secure equipment properly for overnight safety.
- Proven experience in construction safety management, with at least 5 years in the field and a minimum of 3 years as a Site Safety Manager.
- Strong electrical experience with the ability to identify electrical-related hazards.
- Osha 30 certification.
- Ability to lead and conduct safety meetings.
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in safety training and compliance.
- BCSP certification is preferred.
- Experience working in data centers, safety management, and electrical environments.
- Proficiency in safety management in industrial settings.
The team operates on a flexible schedule, with the current setup being 10 days on followed by 4 days off.
