Job DescriptionAECOM s Cultural Resources Team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support and grow our dynamic team across Ontario. The successful candidate will manage a wide range of cultural resources (archaeology / heritage) focused projects from planning to completion, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality client deliverables. This role is ideal for a skilled professional who can effectively lead project teams, manage scope, budget and schedule of projects, liaise with clients and regulators, and ensure the successful delivery of cultural resource management services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage cultural resource management projects from proposal through to final reporting, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Oversee fieldwork logistics and execution, including managing multiple crews and coordinating resources.
- Apply advanced scientific principles and archaeological methodologies to solve complex project challenges.
- Conduct QA/QC on reports and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage field data collection, artifact cataloguing, and report preparation.
- Develop and implement health and safety protocols for fieldwork.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal writing and client engagement.
- Mentor junior staff and review deliverables to maintain quality and consistency.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree.
- Minimum 6 years of consulting experience, including 3+ years in a Project Management role leading archaeological projects.
- Strong knowledge of Ontarios archaeological or heritage regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience coordinating large field teams and tracking fieldwork logistics and data.
- Demonstrated success delivering projects that meet scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8 years + of pertinent experience
- Valid Research or Professional class license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism.
- Experience with heritage or archaeological regulatory systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience managing subcontractors and interdisciplinary project inputs.
