SWP Contracting, LLC. is searching for an experienced Superintendent with civil contracting experience to support our federal O&M projects in Rio Grande Valley, TX. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality and contractual obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews project plans and specifications to meet and execute objectives.
  • Manages and coordinates field staff and subcontracted workers accordingly.
  • Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs.
  • Work with the Project Manager to track project schedule and finances.
  • Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities.
  • Set performance goals and deadlines.
  • Proactively manages and procures equipment, machinery, materials, and resources for the project.
  • Communicate with clients and internal team on project progress.
  • Estimate costs and ensure the project is on budget.
  • Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Implement safety and quality guidelines.
  • Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance.
  • Keep track of material stock and orders.
  • Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly.
  • Resolve on-site issues and emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience as a Construction Superintendent in the civil contracting industry.
  • Federal government contracting experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites.
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
  • Understands construction drawings, plans and specifications.
  • Understanding of project scheduling software
  • Experience using Microsoft office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
