Polar Crane Project Manager

Project: SLR Polar Crane Projects

Start: April / May 2025

Hours: Flexible - 4x10's or 5x8's

Duration: 1 year - will extend based on performance/project need

ST Pay Rate: Up to $85.00 / hr

Per Diem: $100 (7 days)

Work Location: Surry Nuclear Plant - Surry, VA 23883

PMP certification preferred, SRO certification preferred but not required

Candidate must have nuclear industry experience as a Project Manager

MUST have significant hands on experience with large overhead crane's

MUST have Nuclear Utility Project Management Experience

MUST be willing to work onsite at Surry Power Station

MUST have experience leading large capital projects full life cycle at a Nuclear Power Station - Ability to develop, manage and monitor project performance to ensure results meet project requirements, budgets, and schedules.

MUST have prior experience managing project risk through collaboration with the project team, station stakeholders, suppliers, and executive leadership.

MUST have demonstrated ability to coordinate the resolution of technical problems and implement changes.

MUST have prior experience managing largeplex projects involving heavy technical engineering and station interface

Strong verbal and writtenmunication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities.

Communicating regularly with team, station stakeholders, and other departments through use of presentations, log entries, and monthly reports.

Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams

Ability to work and develop rapport with all levels of management and staff

Job Summary

A Generation Project Manager is needed to support the Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) Major Project management team at Surry Power Station in Surry, VA.

Manages or supports specific phases of major projects including business development support, site development, permitting support (air, water, state, local, etc...), scope development, major contract negotiations (equipment, engineering or EPC), engineering, procurement, and construction contracts, construction activities,missioning and transition tomercial operation.

Manages all phases of improvement projects including permitting, contract negotiations, engineering contracts, construction contracts, construction activities andmissioning.

Projects ranging in size from majorplex projects to smaller improvement projects in existing generating facilities. Majorplex projects include Polar Crane upgrade, and R-22 Refrigerant (includes containment chillers and CARF cooling coil replacement).

Typically reports to Supervisor of Project Management.

Preferred Years of Experience:

7+ years of nuclear industry experience in the field of construction, engineering, finance and/or management with a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in project management.

MUST have prior experience as a PM on a polar crane project and or assisted a PM in leading a polar crane project

Significant relevant experience with the leading/assisting with installation of large overhead cranes

Heavy load lift activities experience

Education:

Bachelor Degree or an equivalentbination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education
