RF Design Engineer

Location: REMOTE Salary: $50.00 USD Hourly - $55.00 USD Hourly Description: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of experience in radio network design, implementation, and/or optimization. Hands-on experience with 5G NR, Massive MIMO, mmWave, LAA, 4G LTE, IoT, CBRS, and multi-vendor environments. Proficient in Layer 3 message analysis for 4G and 5G networks. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading 5+ projects, including at least 2 large-scale deployments (e.g., metropolitan or statewide). Strong communication skills with cross-functional teams, project managers, and customers. Proven ability to work independently while managing complex projects and customer expectations. Willingness to travel extensively within the U.S. Technical Skills Design & Planning: Expertise in planning tools such as Planet EV and Atoll. Deep understanding of link budgets, project setup, tilt/azimuth optimization, and site proposals. Experience with Automatic Cell Planning (ACP) tools. Ability to perform Monte Carlo analysis and identify network improvement opportunities. Tuning & Optimization: Skilled in drive test data analysis and parameter tuning using tools like TEMS Investigation, Actix, Agilent, and R&S. Experience optimizing loaded networks and distinguishing between artificial and real traffic loads. Strong understanding of IRAT procedures and their impact on network quality. Ability to assess the impact of additional carriers, including 5G. Performance Optimization: Proficient in implementing RAN features based on traffic analysis. Expertise in handover optimization, capacity planning, and enhanced uplink tuning. Deep experience with LTE/5G optimization and KPI improvement strategies. Advanced user of Ericsson ENM and associated optimization tools. Additional Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Skilled in cross-departmental coordination and translating customer requirements into actionable plans.
