PROJECT ENGINEER
Job Captain primarily responsible for managing a team that provides design, engineering and drafting support for the project management team . Focus on effective design, quality driven . Provide support on questions regarding production and installation of assigned projects. Keep track of working progress of assigned projects utilizing company standard monitoring. .Deal with suppliers and project managers in regards to technical questions on assigned projects. Assist in supervising assigned drafting personnel. Advanced 2D AutoCAD and subsequent versions in the future. Generate fabrication drawings, prepare drawings and parts list as required Provide bills of material for supplies that are required to physically install the material in the field. Attend design, project meetings, and project turnover meetings to ensure input information is correct. Source parts and material from available literature, database, and suppliers. Assist with the preparation of proposals as required Conduct research into the feasibility and design of structural components, and systems. Preparing or evaluating technical proposals including RFIs, SIs, change orders etc. required . Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Minimum 6 years experience in, design and drafting with 2D/3D AutoCAD . Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, analytical thinker.
Responsibilities:
High level of involvement in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
Participate in monthly forecasting revenue and costs accruals.
Process and estimate change orders and Requests for Information as directed by Project Manager.
Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
Maintain a complete and current record of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals, including a file of letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction.
Assist in developing and updating project schedule.
Work closely with field construction personnel (Superintendents, Foremen and Crews).
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration (Accounting, Management or Finance), Construction Management or related field. Equivalent experience in a construction-related position will also be considered.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Thorough attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
Strong work ethic
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
