Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has a long-term contract opening for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer with strong design experience in Scottsdale, AZ.
Work content:
- Transit Case assembly drawings - rack elevation, BOM, interconnect, wire list - to build 5 units (that are currently in MFG assembly
- Rack drawings (elevation, BOM, interconnect, wire lists) - to build 4 lab racks, and ~ 40 site racks (most common designs)
Responsibilities:
- Visio Rack drawing updates
- Excel wire list updates
- PDM BOM updates
- Drawing tree update
- New PDM part requests as needed
- CAD work (minimal) - Note, they have a designer supporting the program already so the ME support will be more oversight
- There is one program level drawing which details rack mount component ISO views which will need updates for new components
- RF Tray custom assembly drawings
- Patch panel drawings
- Cable trades/selection
- Cable estimates - connectivity between racks
- Cable VIDs - new/updates
- Component SCDs
- PDM CRs/CNs, etc.
- Support Manufacturing with initial builds, drawing redlines, and As-Built updates
Required Skills
- Must be US Citizen due to work being performed
- Must be eligible to obtain a DoD clearance
- Requires a Bachelor-s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
- Must have strong physical design experience
- Advanced proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
