Primary Role:

The Assistant Superintendent works closely with the Superintendent to help manage on-site operations. This role supports daily construction activities, coordinates subcontractors, helps enforce safety and quality standards, and ensures projects stay on schedule. It's an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop into a full Superintendent role over time.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist the Superintendent with managing daily on-site activities
  • Help coordinate subcontractors and deliveries to maintain smooth workflow
  • Monitor jobsite safety and participate in safety meetings
  • Walk the site regularly to inspect work for quality and conformance to plans
  • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
  • Track materials and communicate inventory needs
  • Attend and document weekly subcontractor meetings
  • Assist with scheduling, look-ahead planning, and progress tracking
  • Support inspections and help resolve on-site issues promptly
  • Keep daily reports and photo documentation of jobsite progress
  • Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Represent Couch Group professionally at all times on the jobsite

 

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in commercial construction (field experience preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with reading construction drawings and plans
  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and construction best practices
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
  • Restaurant construction experience a plus
  • Must be able to travel to jobsite(s) as assigned
  • Valid driver’s license required

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outside on construction sites in varying weather conditions
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 70 lbs
  • Comfortable working around noise, dust, and physical activity typical of construction environments
  • Must be able to safely use ladders, stairs, and access work areas at various heights
